Project 365 - Day 5

So, I've dropped the ball just five days in. I didn't take a photo for three full days. There will be more times like these, I'm sure of it. Anyway, we were walking on WKU's campus last night, and I snapped this without looking through the viewfinder. I thought it was somewhat interesting. It's a photo, nonetheless. Enjoy.

Project 365 - Day 4

After work yesterday, I took a stroll around the building I work in. I was hoping to get some cool satellite photos, since we have 30-bajillion of those (8 or so), but they're kind of ugly and dirty. So, I did what any lost photographer might do...took a snapshot of a nearby chain-link fence?!?

I'm a rule breaker. Here's photo #2 from yesterday. I delivered Angie her new/used iPhone at her place of employment. Turns out, she works in the old WBKO building downtown. I had never pieced that together. Very odd, since I work at the new/used WBKO building. So, this is the old radio tower that we made use of whilst there.

Project 365 - Day 3

Last night was Backyard BBQ night at WBC. We OD'd on BBQ, Bs, Ds, and CC with a little BYOB for good measure. WTF, mate? Anyway, I walked behind this kid and said, "Look up, Eli!" Turns out his name really was Eli. I'm hungry.

Project 365 - Day 2

On my way home from work yesterday evening, I got caught by the train on Dishman. I seriously considered pulling over, walking up toward the train and experimenting with motion blur shots, but laziness won. In the meantime, I ended up taking this self-portrait.

Project 365 - Day 1

And so Project 365: Jon Doss Edition begins. Nothing exciting here. Just a dirty plate full of dish soap. A neutral beginning to this journey. I hope to see my photography skills grow through this process, and hopefully it will make me think more outside the box.

a trip to Bardstown...

We arrived Friday and checked into the Old Talbott Tavern in downtown Bardstown. This place is supposed to be haunted. Angie claims to have heard some odd noises in our room during the night, and this picture features a strange looking light/orb/reflection on the ceiling...

So, we just walked around for most of the day. Bardstown in Autumn is pretty...

Saturday morning, we got up early and ate our complimentary country breakfast. Then, we walked around a bit more before returning to our room to take a nap.

After our nap, we embarked on a 2.5 hour train ride through the countryside on My Old Kentucky Dinner Train. The three-course meal was delicious...

Next, we decided to hit up My Old Kentucky Home. We'd both been as kids but couldn't quite remember the details. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip...

Sunday, we visited Old Bardstown Village. Here we went into several museums, mostly focusing on the Civil War, and visited the Pioneer Village. Then, we high-tailed it to Loretto, KY to visit Maker's Mark Distillery, which was my favorite part of the trip.

Here I am about to dip a bottle of bourbon in hot wax...

And here's my fine dipping job...
